Color and ??? Card Swap

This swap...asked the participants to choose a color or two or three or in my case five...add a ??? color and create any occasion cards...i started with navy..green..orange..and yellow..later i signed up for black/silver...i tried the triple stamping technique...and almost succeeded...i really need to get better pressure or something on the stamps...

Music in the Forest Swap

Yep another Forest Swap...the subject was music...i am in no way musically inclined...other than i like to listen and i like to dance...but creating or singing...uh yeah make the angels weep...

there were a few categories to choose from...cards...recipe cards...card candy...and you know me...i went with a recipe card...the recipe i chose has nothing to do with music...other than these cookie bars make your tastebuds SING!!!

When i was a teenager one of the youth leaders in our church made these (i think she believed if our mouths were full she'd get a word in)...they disappeared fast!...hello?...sweets and teenage girls?...

and of course the cards are my usual plain jane style...but they turned out "sweet"

CASES #6 Over The River..Gramma Stuffed The Turkey

yeah been a looong time for a CASES...and i did do the card yesterday (Saturday) but had no time to post...this one has a fall/thanksgiving theme...the lyrics i used are " over the river and through the wood" and "grandma stuffed the turkey"...rather than the hymns on the original card...you can find the details for the original here on SCS

SU has so many lovely card stock colors...but an all time favorite of mine is really rust..and i love it paired with night of navy...since really rust has retired (i have a stash that i hoard) i use cajun craze a lot...for this card i paired it with another favorite...old olive...and let me tell you those leaves were buggers to cut out..

I love CAS!...and so this swap was right up my alley...i signed up to do a card in each category of this swap hosted by LaLatty on SCS...Halloween..Thanksgiving and Christmas...i've been using my simply scored more...i need to get the angle attachment i think...

ok bear with me this will be a rambling post...i've been awake since 0430...the alarm went off...thunder/lightening started up...i figured the balloon launch we were all going to would be cancelled...(it was) and the "antelope stampede" festivities don't start til noon (could go back to bed?)...but no.. my bro doesn't cancel once he makes plans...nope just changes them...so we went to breakfast...rain quieted down...still no launch...so...hmmm..."let's go garage/yard selling!"...btw, there is an app for that...so i look and find one that has SU and all kinds of papercraft stuff for sale...oh boy gotta get to that one...it's just after 0700...HOORAY! she's a military spouse so of course her garage sale starts at 0700...had tons of SU stuff and i picked up a couple of stamp sets...so i used them today!

so as some of you know i've been toying with the idea of doing something weekly...to get the mojo going and to post more often...the idea is simple...CASES..Copy And Share Every Saturday...it might not be weekly at first though...with all the stuff going on right now...i.e. my dd's illness...grands...other family obligations...but i figure i deserve some time right?...i should be one of my obligations!...so i'm going to give it a whirl...

for the debut CASES card i looked to SCS (did you have any doubt?)...and found a card that i not only liked but that i believed i could copy-ish...

What's Your Poison Card Swap

Another post..Another swap...this swap over on SCS caught my eye because of the hostess and because i like drink/cocktail/wine images...the theme of the swap was to make a card featuring  "your poison"....i had several images i could use...and settled on Heidi by Victoria Case...a saucy wench if there ever was one...

i used my SU Simply Scored to add texture to the base...colored the image using GIMP..and heat embossed clear on the beer mugs (though it doesn't show in the pic)....and now i think i'll sit on the deck with a "frosty beverage" to watch the sunset (well in a few hours anyway)....

Rain in The Forest

having discovered Forest Ranger's swaps on SCS i join each one...this group of gals called "forest friends" chat away daily...some hourly...it's a wonderful group..

this time around the theme was Rain in The Forest...just right for a swap due in the spring...cards had to relate to rain or the results of rain...i took my usual 2 spots...

rainbows...i think rain is nice...but rainbows are better...so i did a rainbow card...found some clipart online...printed and colored it with copic markers...and i don't do that great a job cutting stuff out...but i think i did pretty good here...

another result of rain i really enjoy are flowers...so pretty and sweet...i rarely dress up cards with more than paper flowers...but i've had these silk flowers in my stash for ages and this was the perfect card to use them on...

Pink & Teal Card Swap

FINALLY!!!...i have some time to post...big sigh...been so busy i'm not sure if i was coming or going...going crazy i guess...some days i didn't know the day of the week or the date...i think i lost track of an entire month...i know we have all been there right?

well on to the cards...this swap: Pink & Teal over on SCS was one i really connected with...the color combo represents the ribbon colors for breast (pink) and ovarian/gynecological (teal) cancers...which are cancers that have effected those nearest and dearest to me...

the first card is done with a favorite retired SU set...tickled pink...my out-laws live in Florida and send us all kinds of flamingo things...so fun..and the sentiment inside was just right..

Sassy/Silly Seniors Swap

I have been having fun with the stamps out there depicting the "older/Wiser" generation...and let's face it us baby boomers are still "spunky"...as well as sassy...so i had fun with this swap...
of course i had to use a Bugaboo Stella digi stamp & sentiment...this makes me think of my mother...i filled the desk in with "pine" before printing...then made my own dp with the same pattern...

I am a FANATIC Steelers Fan...and have always called this team from texas "the cowgirls"...but there are some very nice people that allow me to use their driveway when turning on & off my School Zone lights...
They are FANATIC Cowboys fans...and i can respect love for your team even if i dislike that team...

Favorite Recipe Swap

Here are a couple of my favorite recipes...and they are meals my family loves as well...this was such a great swap...FYI these both freeze well...just don't bake before freezing...on the muffins i freeze in the tin for a day then "pop" them out and put in a freezer bag...just thaw and bake...
