Rain in The Forest

having discovered Forest Ranger's swaps on SCS i join each one...this group of gals called "forest friends" chat away daily...some's a wonderful group..

this time around the theme was Rain in The Forest...just right for a swap due in the had to relate to rain or the results of rain...i took my usual 2 spots...

rainbows...i think rain is nice...but rainbows are i did a rainbow card...found some clipart online...printed and colored it with copic markers...and i don't do that great a job cutting stuff out...but i think i did pretty good here...

Count your Rainbows
Paper: bermuda caibbean..dp
Ink: printer..bermuda bay..copic markers
Stamp: rainbow clipart
Accessories: glitter ribbon..dimentionals
the sentiment is one i really like...some days it seems easier to focus on the storm and not the blessings of "rainbows" in our see things much simpler and can be wiser for it...

another result of rain i really enjoy are pretty and sweet...i rarely dress up cards with more than paper flowers...but i've had these silk flowers in my stash for ages and this was the perfect card to use them on...

Shades of Purple Flower
Paper: rich razzleberry..early espresso..naturals ivory..dp
Ink: printer
Accessories: shades of purple silk flowers..small purple brad
the sentiment is from a poem i found online (printed in early espresso)...and it "spoke" to me...a very fancy way of saying "stop and smell the roses"...which i really need to do...just soak up the beauty of nature and feel God in my surroundings...

i hope you all take some time to do this safe/be well...

  1. love your cards, especially the first one! That sentiment is wonderful!

  2. Both of your cards are SO pretty!! I really like the first one - that sentiment is SO true!!

  3. Both are great! Love the DP you used on that second card - and the flower.
The first just makes me so happy with this colorful rainbow! Your cutting is great and so is the card.

  4. I can't help but smile when I see rainbows and yours is a very happy card indeed! Love the patterned paper on the second card and you are right, the silk flower is perfect for this card!

  5. Wooohoo, such wonderful weather cards and great sentiments to go with! Looks like you had great fun making these! Happy Birthday to your dh - hope he loves his 'surprise!" :)

  6. Wow! Beautiful cards! Love the pretty!! Love the sentiments on both cards!!

  7. Lucky for rain!! Love your cards, the rainbow is perfect and your cutting is fine, I cannot cut anything out, they always have rough edges. Love the colors and flowers on the second one.

  8. These are both great!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the rainbow card. It reminds me so much of when I was in HS and the big "thing" was rainbows. Rainbow pins, rainbow hair doodads, rainbow jewelry, etc. Love it.

  9. Rainbows are better, and these are fabulous.

  10. Great sentiment on the rainbow card; and your fussy cutting is wonderful!

  11. Wonderful cards for your Rain in the Forest swap. Your rainbow is so bright and cheery with a great sentiment. I still need to practice more with my copics.

  12. Your swap cards are fantastic! Love the rainbow and the cloud paper on the first one, and the beautiful silk flowers on the second. The sentiments are perfect, too.

  13. Kari, You've been a busy! I love, love, love the rainbow card and sentiment! I think that should be my new mantra. Wonderful cutting by the way!

  14. Love the fun colors and glittery ribbon on the first card! The second one is very elegant! The poem is so beautiful and perfect with your lovely flowers!
