Over at SCS there is a monthly group challenge to use only items in your stash to create a card based on a theme that month's hostess has picked...September's challenge theme is "We have choices...Get Well, Hope you are feeling better, Thinking of you, Hope your recovery is going well"

Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge #157 & Hiding in My Craft Room #15

it's been awhile since i did a challenge...and i plan to do one or two of the HYCCT challenges over on SCS...but today i was looking at the blogs i subscribe to and ran across a couple of challenges that i knew i could combine...i am usually combining challenged...lol...pun!

the 1st challenge is UDI's Sketch #157...and i knew i had the perfect papers for it...of course i turned the sketch sideways...cause you know i'm a sideways kinda gal!...lol

Accessories: sheer yellow ribbon..1.5 & 1.75" circle punches

the dp has a celery shade in it so i figure that counts for certainly celery...i did compare it to the cardstock and it's a very close match...and now the sun is peeking out so i am going to get my day really going...be safe/be well all...

UDI Color Challenge #31

today's color challenge @ Utah Divas International is using this picture and these colors:


and i was at a loss...love the combo but...hmmm...so i fiddle farted around and this is what happened:

Paper: night of navy..bashful blue..whisper white
Ink: daffodil delight..basic black..night of navy
Stamps: big blossom..wonderful words ii
Accessories: sponge dauber 

you can't really tell in the picture i posted...but the card base is night of navy..the center of the flower is basic black..and the sentiment is stamped in night of navy...i may have to fine tune this card...i do like the combo and the big blossom...


ETA: and these are the USAF Seal colors

UDI Inspiration Challenge #142

hail

Utah Divas Inspiration Challenge today has this picture (above) posted to inspire us...however this is what my utah looks like today...thunder...hail...and rain...brrrr!..welcome to spring huh?


but i was inspired...and this is what i created....

Paper: confetti white..cherry cobbler
Ink: ridinghood red..cherry cobbler..wild wasabi..daffodil delight

Accessories: sheer daffodil ribbon

i sponged a clip art image on conffetti white cs with ridinghood red..cherry cobbler..wild wasabi and daffodil delight...tied a daffodil colored bow (badly tied i know) and layered on cherry cobbler cs...it cheered me up!

ETA: it is now snowing..BIG..FAT..fluffy flakes..and wet...we have an areal flood warning in effect

UDI Color Challenge #30

i saw the colors for this color challenge EARLY this morning over on Utah Divas International...i was inspired immediately...early expresso...real red...crumb cake and very vanilla...yummy colors right?

so i hobbled as quick as i could to my craft room...aka the disaster zone...grabbed the papers, ink and the stamp set...and voila!!

Paper: early expresso..real red..crumb cake..very vanilla

Ink: early expresso

Stamps: coffee cafe

Accessories: red ribbon..crimper

i crimped the crumb cake strip...and added the ribbon...edged the vanilla with expresso ink...stamped and layered my image and sentiment...had the little bit of open space left lower corner so i stamped some coffee beans...i have to tell you this came together QUICK!...and i love it!

CAS93 - Card for my hubby

this is the card i decided to do last night for CAS93 on SCS...made it for todd...inside i'll put a pic of Ditz and the sentiment: Cats leave pawprints on our hearts...tfl...be safe/be well

HYCCTC05 - Twine Time

decided to do a masculine card for the twine time HYCCT challenge...had these scraps and so it just came together quickly..."borrowed" the fly from my dh's tackle box...dulled the hook and attached it to a swivel and the twine...now dh wants me to make a copy for my step-son's b-day...he loves to fish so he should like this card

HYCCTC02A & 02B

so i went to michael's this morning...and spent too much time and too much money...they didn't have the item i wanted in stock...but hey i got adhesive...yay for me!

here are the first 2 cards i've done for the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges on SCS...the first one is the lingerie inspired challenge ...i used colored pencils and it turned out ok...just remember i am coloring "challenged"

this second one is pink holidays...i really like dasher for this card...my hubby said the pink gem on the slit punch looks like a boobie holding him in place...so now i have that image stuck in my head...he is SUCH a guy!!

Join Me...Hope You Can Cling To

as many of us know there is a challenge thread on SCS...Hope You Can Cling To ...the "blinkie is on the left side of my blog...i have done a couple of the challenges and will be posting the pics in the next day or two...i'm asking that my fellow SCSers and anyone else that makes cards join me...these cards will benefit those dealing with breast cancer in all it's forms...those dealing with it now...survivors...families of same...supporters...you get the picture...i have not had this cancer...but my aunties have...one is doing chemo now...she WILL be a survivor!...and my BFF that i've know all my life...(yeah we're talkin' sharing teething rings here)...has been battling ovarian cancer for too many years...and i can say years because the drugs that breast cancer research have developed benefit her too...she will never be cured...never be a survivor...but she might never die from this either...because of the R & D of drugs/treatments that come about from our donations...our hope...our care for those dealing with this issue...and believe it or not a card can make a difference...

SC300- Tree & Snowflake

on World Card Making Day (Sat. 10/02/2010)...i made cards for the SCS Sketch Challenge # 300...wow that's a lot of sketches!!...i used 2 of my favorite sets...ok so all my sets are my favorite...when i'm using them...on the first one i used my new Cuttlebug embossing folder...Forest Branches...the eyelets are a little off but that's just "uniqueness"...and on the second i sort of flipped it and used the Snowflakes embossing folder...my hubby was my design consultant...and my daughters gave input too...hope they are up to snuff

CAS86 - C is for Cat

today's CAS @ SCS uses a sketch by cookiebaker...there are some really great cards in the gallery...as you'll see in another post i've been using this C is For Cat stamp recently...bought the sparkly ric-rac this weekend...and the red gem that i put on the collar...i saw the sketch and this popped in my head...so i went with it

CAS85

ok a color challenge for this CAS on SCS (vanilla, red, kraft, brown, orange optional)...not my forte...but i said i'd try and this is the result...i chose the grateful stamp partly for the fall/harvest/thanksgiving and partly because i am feeling grateful right now...my blessings far outweigh my laments...tho there have been some tough and sad...emotionally draining times recently...but that's life...we have to live it as best we can and in my case rely on faith in God...good people...embracing the chaos...and love...remember no matter where you are...no matter where they are...you should always kiss them goodnight...

Happy Birthday Swap- funny card and serious card

i mailed out my cards today for a Happy Birthday Swap over @ SCS...i did one funny and one serious...i really like the SC296 sketch so i used it for my serious card...the peridot flower gem is sooo much prettier irl...gotta work on my photo skills...

the funny card i did using the frog from SU Birthday Banter...i love that set...but then again i love most every set i have...and finding new ones to love all the time... i think this is the first time i've used ink on an embossing folder...and one of the few times i've sponged color on a card...i think it turned out well...the black ribbon was used purposely to go with the sentiment..."we may not be tadpoles anymore but at least we haven't croaked"...also submitting this one for the Cuttlebug #100 Happy Birthday Challenge

The minute i saw the sketch we were to use as the basis for this week's CAS Challenge this stamp set came to mind...this set is one of my favorite for the holidays...and i'm getting in that christmas card creative mood so i took it as a sign...not sure if it's the "stay off the grass" sign...or "open for business" sign yet...
