well on to the cards...this swap: Pink & Teal over on SCS was one i really connected with...the color combo represents the ribbon colors for breast (pink) and ovarian/gynecological (teal) cancers...which are cancers that have effected those nearest and dearest to me...
the first card is done with a favorite retired SU set...tickled pink...my out-laws live in Florida and send us all kinds of flamingo things...so fun..and the sentiment inside was just right..
Tickled Pink Paper: Early Espresso..Taken with Teal..Whisper White..DP Ink: Jet Black..SU markers..pretty in pink Stamps: Tickled Pink |
Inside |
for the next card i used a digi stamp..ribbon bear...used GIMP (a pic editing program) to color in the ribbon and to "piece" the DP onto the bear...if you look close you can see it matches the DP behind the image..
Ribbon Bear Paper: Pretty in Pink..Whisper White..DP Ink: Printer Stamp: Ribbon Bear Digi |
Ribbon Bunny Paper: Taken with Teal..Pretty in Pink..Whisper White Ink: SU markers Stamp: Ribbon Bunny Digi Accessories: teal gem |
Very cute!! Love that "paper pieced" bear. What a great idea. I think your dd did an amazing job with the markers!
ReplyDeletesuch lovely Cards. Missed you and happy to see you back
ReplyDeleteOh what a fun filled post! Each one of your cards are so adorable - the first one is very Miami :) Love the designs and beauty of each! x0x0
ReplyDeleteAll are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the image on the first one - and that DP - I actually have some of that paper. Now I need to find it!
The second one is awesome with the photo editing you did - and precious image.
And last but not least....love this one and the coloring is great! I have a terrible time using the markers for coloring. LOVE that belly button too.
Precious cards.
Lynn
You sure have been busy..These are adorable. Love how you paper pieced the bear.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards from you, and your daughter too. I love the flamingo card, how fun is that sentiment!?! The paper-piecing is wonderful, and your daughter did a great job (that belly-button is adorable).
ReplyDeleteLove the sentiment on the first caard and the card is so cute too - kicking myself for not buying that set! I'm impressed with your computer skills to fill in on the second card. And kudos to your daughter for her sweet card! She has a great mentor!
ReplyDeleteWonderful swap cards. I wish I had more time to check them out on SCS. I can see why your in-laws would love the flamingo card.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! Love how you matched the paper on the bear-you computer person you! Tell your DD that the teal bellybutton makes the card and her coloring is better than mine!
ReplyDeleteLove all the different interpretations of the color combo.
ReplyDeleteGreat cards! Love the bright colors and fun flamingos on the first one and your 'piecing' on the second is amazing! I am severely lacking in the computer crafting area! LOVE your daughter's card and the gem bellybutton!
